Toys that earn their place in the toy box
Learning With Us is an Australian family business based in Maroubra, New South Wales. We sell one thing: toys that actually teach a child something, chosen by age and by the skill they build.
We started the way most parents do — buying a toy that looked educational, watching it get played with twice, then finding it under the couch three months later. So we set a rule for the range: if we can't say in one sentence what a toy teaches and which age it suits, we don't stock it.
How we choose what we sell
- One clear developmental purpose. Fine motor, early literacy, spatial reasoning, self-regulation, problem solving. If a toy does everything, it usually does nothing.
- Built to survive a real child. We favour solid timber, thick card and quality plastics over thin, glued-together pieces.
- Age-appropriate and safe. Everything we sell for under-3s meets the Australian mandatory safety standard for toys for children up to and including 36 months. Anything with a button or coin battery meets the mandatory battery safety and information standards.
- Screen-free by default. There is a place for tech — our coding robots and electronics kits are proof. But most of what we sell needs nothing but hands and attention.
Australian stock, Australian delivery
We hold and ship from Australian warehouses. That means your order is dispatched within one business day and typically lands in 2–5 business days to metro addresses — not three weeks from overseas. It also means returns go to an Australian address and your consumer guarantees under Australian Consumer Law are straightforward to exercise.

We answer every email ourselves. If you're not sure what suits a particular child, tell us their age and what they're into and we'll give you a straight recommendation — including telling you when the answer is "don't buy this one".
